The fall season has officially arrived, and Georgia’s sweltering heat is (mostly) in our rearview mirror. October is a beautiful time of year to enjoy your porch and patio, especially in the cooler evening hours. A fire pit is an excellent centerpiece for any outdoor living and entertaining area on crisp autumn evenings.
Here are four things you can enjoy doing around your fire pit this fall:
Share stories with friends and family
Conversations around fires have connected humans for centuries, so why not carry on that tradition in your backyard? Make memories with your loved ones while gathered around the warm glow of your fire. Take turns sharing stories about the funniest thing that’s happened to you, your most embarrassing moment, or maybe your favorite ghost story!
Enjoying this classic snack combining chocolate, graham crackers, and fire-roasted marshmallows is a great way to end your day. Be sure you help your smaller children when roasting the marshmallows to avoid accidental burns!
Enjoy a meal
Take your meal outside and dine by firelight! You can even cook your meal over the open flame – such as hot dogs or corn. This can add some novelty to your family’s evening and shake up your dinnertime routine.
Catch up on a book
Unwind by the fire and catch up on that novel you’ve been meaning to read. The crackling, warm fire provides a great environment to relax and dive into some literature while freeing yourself from the distractions of the day-to-day.
